Rushden Soldier Missing - Pte Ernest Harold Martin - A CWS Employee
Mr and Mrs H Martin, of Ruskin House, Portland road, Rushden, have received news from official sources that their eldest son, Pte Ernest Harold Martin, of the -- Royal Marines Battalion, has been missing since the engagement on April 28th.
The missing soldier, who is 20 years of age, has been in France, since October last, having enlisted in February, 1916. He was formerly a stitcher and sewer at the CWS Works.
The only information Mr and Mrs Martin have received concerning their son is that contained in the official intimation, which was received on Whit-Monday, and they will be grateful to any of their son's comrades who can sent them any further information concerning him.

Rushden Marine Missing
Mr and Mrs Martin of 90 Portland-road, Rushden, would be very grateful for news of the fate of their son, Pte E H Martin, 1401, Platoon 11, C Company, 1st Royal Marine Light Infantry, who has been missing since April 28th. The soldier is only 20 years of age and joined up twelve months last February. He went to France in October last year. Previous to the war he was employed at the C.W.S

Rushden Marine Presumed Killed
We are sorry to record that Mr H Martin, of 90, Portland-road, Rushden, has received official notice mat the Admiralty now presume their son, Pte Ernest Harold Martin, of the 1st Royal Marines, was killed on April 28th, 1917. He had since that date been reported as "missing". He was only 20 years of age, and was formerly employed by the C.W.S. at Rushden.
