Rushden Victim of the War - Private James Loveday Killed in Action

We are sorry to learn that Mr and Mrs Loveday, of 120 Cromwell-road, Rushden, have received official news of the death in action on October 25th, of their eldest son, 32628, Pte James Loveday, of the South Stafford Regiment. The deceased soldier, who was 32 years of age, leaves a widow and one little girl to mourn their loss. The late Pte Loveday, who before enlistment was employed by Messrs. John Cave & Son, Ltd, Rushden, joined up on May 29th, 1915, in the Army Ordnance Corps, and about 18 months ago he was transferred to the South Staffs Regiment, and went out to France, for the second time, last Christmas. He was a native of Kettering, and before leaving that town, eight years ago, he was a prominent member of the Adult School, being highly respected by his fellow members. A letter of sympathy to the bereaved parents and widow has been sent by Messrs. John Cave & Sons, Ltd.
