Rushden Soldier's Fate Private - William Lilley Missing Since April 19th

Mrs and Mrs Alfred Lilley, of 11, Gordon-terrace, Rushden, have, we regret to report, received an official intimation that their younger son, Pte William Lilley, - Northants Regt., has been missing since the fighting in Palestine on April 19th.

Private Lilley joined the Colours last November, and went out to Egypt only in March this year. He was but 19 years of age. Mr and Mrs Lilley have received no news of their son beyond that contained in the official intimation, and they will be grateful to any of Pte Lilley's comrades who can further enlighten them as to his fate.

In Memoriam

In loving memory of my dear husband Private WILLIAM LILLEY, who died of wounds in France, June 7th,

No loved ones stood beside him.
To hear his last farewell;
No word of comfort could he have
From those who loved him well.

From his ever-loving wife, 9 New-street.
