Rushden Corporal killed

Cpl. Ernest Cecil Ingram of 13 South Terrace Rushden has been reported killed in action. His wife Mrs M Ingram received the sad news from the War Office on Saturday. Cpl. Ingram was 28 years of age and a native of Irthlingborough, being the 2nd son of Mr A Ingram of 111 Finedon Road, he joined the army in July 1940 from the employ of Messrs Walker and Gunn, Boot Manufacturers of Higham Ferrers, going to North Africa in May 1943. Cpl. Ingram was an old boy of the Rushden Intermediate School. A brother is also in the army.
