Rushden Soldier Missing - News Wanted of Pte S Griggs

Mrs S Griggs, of 15 Sussex-place, Rushden, has received official news that her husband, 18727, Pte S Griggs, of the Royal West Surreys, has been missing from his regiment since April 23rd. Pte Griggs, who formerly worked for Messrs. West Bros., Higham Ferrers, was called up on May 28th, 1916, and went to France, at the end of August last year.

He is well known at the Trade Union Club, Rushden, of which he was a member, and took a keen interest in all games and sports run in connection with the establishment. His wife appeals through our columns to any of her husband's comrades who can send her any further information concerning him.

Mrs Griggs's stepfather, Corpl Sadler J Newell, of the R.F.A., whose wife resides at 5, Pemberton-street, Rushden, is reported wounded and is now in Huddersfield War Hospital. Corpl Newell, who enlisted on May 2nd, 1915, has been in France since September, 1915, and last Christmas spent ten days' leave with his wife at Rushden.

His injuries are in the right arm, and he is making favourable progress.
