Born at Griston Norfolk and enlisted at Rushden when his adress was given as 19 Pemberton Street. Married in 1911 at Olney to Maria Ada Peters. He enlisted in the Territorial Forces in Rushden on 11/11/15 and was posted to 8th East Yorks Reg 24/9/16. Sent to the unit in France on 20/1/17. He died of shrapnel wounds to his right side on 31/3/17. Parents Robert and Maria, brothers Robert, Arthur, sisters Violet, Lizzie and Ada. They had 2 children: Margaret 13/4/11 and Charles Alfred 24/6/12.
