Irchester’s List of Victims - A Native of Rushden Killed

Pte. Albert Clarke (aged 34), of the Suffolk Regt., a native of Rushden, but living prior to the war in Station-road, Irchester, was killed in action on April 9th. A reservist, he was called up at the beginning of the war, and would have completed 17 years’ service in June. The father is blind, and his mother died on April 21st. This is a loss of three in the family in eight months. Pte. Clarke leaves a widow.
