Presumed Killed

Owing to the lapse of time and absence of any further news since he was reported missing, Flight Sergt. Samuel Cater, R.A.F.V.R., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Cater, of 16 Highfield-road, Rushden, is now presumed to have lost his life on June 26th 1944. Aged 30, Flight Sergt. Cater joined the R.A.F.V.R. at Sywell in 1938 and was called up at the outbreak of war. He had completed one tour of operations and was on “pathfinding” duty from a base in Italy when he lost his life. Previously he worked at Messrs. John White’s Manton-road factory in Rushden.
