His Life for his Country

Son of Mr. W. Brown and the late Mrs. Brown, of 44, Spencer-road, Rushden, and formerly employed at the factory of Messrs. Allebone and Sons, Pte. Amos Brown has died of wounds in North Africa. He has been there a month and was attached to an anti-tank regiment.

One of Four - Rushden Soldier’s Death in North Africa

After having served in North Africa for only a month, Pte. Amos Brown, of the Army Catering Corps, attached to an anti-tank regiment, died of wounds on March 28th. The official news was received last Friday by his wife, who before her marriage 2½ years ago was Miss Cora Hale, at 22, Lancaster-street, Higham Ferrers.

Pte. Brown was the son of Mr. W. Brown and the late Mrs. Brown, of 44, Spencer-road, Rushden. Aged 26 years, he had been serving for three years and was formerly employed by Messrs. Allebone and Sons, boot manufacturers, Rushden. Three of his brothers are in the Army.
