Buried in Germany - Fate of Sgt-Pilot Beale Revealed in Message to Parents

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beale, of "Templecroft," Sharnbrook, received news from the Air Ministry last Friday that their son, Sergt.-Pilot Frederick Allen Beale, who was posted missing on August 17 last, after having failed to return from a bombing expedition, and was later known to have sacrificed his life, is buried in the Brunswick cemetery, Germany.

Twenty-five years of age, Sergt.-Pilot Beale had attended the Rushden Intermediate School and was an outstanding member of the school football team, afterwards playing football for junior clubs and occasionally for Rushden Town. A member of the R.A.F.V.R., he had performed a good deal of gallant operational work with his squadron.

He had served in the Surveyor's Office of the Rushden Urban Council, and when war broke out was on the staff of the Northamptonshire County Council. His father is manager for Mr. Robert Marriott, the Rushden builder. Miss Nora Middleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Middleton, of 104, Washbrook-road, Rushden, was Sgt. Beale's fiancée.
