Rushden Soldier’s Death in India
Mrs. S. C. Bayes, of 34, Pemberton-street, Rushden, was informed by the War Office on Tuesday that her husband, serving in India, had died of wounds received in action.
He is Trooper Ernest Bayes, R.A.C., who had been in the Army for nearly four years, three of which have been spent abroad. Aged 34 years, Trooper Bayes formerly worked in the factory of Messrs. Jaques and Clark, boot manufacturers, and was a member of the West End Club. Besides his wife, four sons are left.
