Born at Rushden, enlisted at Northampton. Brother of Agnew, William, Walter & Horace.

Victor had 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and the family lived in Oswald Road. He enlisted on the 1st of November 1915 and joined the 4th Northamptonshire Regiment as no. 4890. He was 5' 7½" tall with 33¾" chest (with a 2" expansion) and was of fair physical development.

On 24th Spetember 1916 he was transferred to the 8th Battalion of the East Yorks Regiment and was killed in action 6 weeks later, having served for 1 year and 13 days.
