More Steel backs Missing

The following local soldiers of C Company, 7th Northants, are officially reported missing since Sept. 27th:-

18362 Pte W Allen, North-street, Rushden.

Fifty-six of C Company, 7th Northants, have been officially reported missing since Sept. 27th, and about 140 of the whole battalion.

Rushden Soldier Missing - Private Walter Allen Now Presumed killed

News had been received by Mrs Allen, of 12, Grove-street, Rushden, to the effects that her husband, Pte Walter Allen, 18362, Northants Regt, missing since Sept. 27th last year, is now presumed by the War Office to have been killed on or about that date. The usual letter of sympathy from the King and Queen has been received by Mrs Allen. Deceased was a son of Mr and Mrs George Allen, of 24, Thrift-street, Higham Ferrers.
