Rushden Officer Mentioned in Dispatches

Lieut. Lee."Gallant and distinguished service" in North-West Europe has gained a mention in dispatches for Lieut. Walter S Lee of Rushden. Since a week after D. Day Lt. Lee has been serving continuously on the Continent. He was called up as a Territorial when war began, and won his way through the non-commissioned ranks before gaining his commission.

Twenty-six years of age, he is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lee, 31, Tennyson-road, Rushden, and twelve months ago married Miss Norma Curtis, of Desborough, who is serving in the Women's Land Army. He was born at Rushden, worked in peacetime for Messrs. A. Allebone and Sons, boot manufacturers, and was a member of the Y.M.C.A. and the Adult School billiards team.
