If you have a photograph of this shrine we'd pleased to take a copy

Rushden Echo, 31st August 1917, transcribed by Gill Hollis

The War Shrine, which has been erected facing Mrs. Abbott’s house on Higham-hill, bearing the names of soldiers from the Higham-road district was formally dedicated on Tuesday evening, the Rev. P. J. Richards (Vicar of St. Peter’s) conducting the service.  Mr. Richards apologised for the absence of the Rev. P. E. Robson (Rector of St. Mary’s) who was prevented from attending owing to another engagement.  The sum of £1  4s.  2½d. was deposited in the collecting box following the dedicatory ceremony.  The case enclosing the Roll of Honour, together with the collecting box, is handsomely constructed in unpolished oak, the work having been carried out by Mr. R. Marriott.
