Points

(1)

No WARNINGS will be sounded but it is assumed that operatives will commence approximately at 10am.
(2)
The Exact time of the incident will be registered on the envelope, and envelopes MUST NOT BE UNSEALED until the definite time stated thereon.
(3)
On account of the time of the year and other obvious reasons, CASUALTIES will not be placed in the open streets, but will be concentrated in special buildings and other suitable places.
(4)
The INCIDENT ENVELOPES will contain the exact location of the position of such buildings, and ONE WARDEN will proceed to the indicated building to ascertain the NUMBER OF CASUALTIES before filling this information upon the message form.
(5)
If an incident is on or near the boundary of any particular patrol or beat, the Warden from the adjacent Post Patrol should visit the scene to make certain that all the area is properly covered. Far safer to have TWO REPORTS THAN NONE AT ALL.
(6)
Wardens MUST NOT ADD any information other than that given in the envelope.
(7)
The number of casualties will be given to the Warden reporting to the scene of the occurrence, by the FIRST AID MAN in charge, and this number ONLY will be entered on the Message Form for reporting to the Report Centre.
(8)
Although there may be FEWER INCIDENTS THAN INDICATED, Wardens must read ALL the information contained in the envelopes, because it is very important that only incidents requiring OTHER SERVICES must be reported. Any incident not to be reported must be noted upon a form and the remarks column correctly filled in to record same. Wardens must return to the scene of the occurrence immediately after sending message.
(9)
There may be MORE THAN ONE incident in the same location.
(10)
One man at EACH PERMANENT POST will be dressed ready in PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, ready to proceed to any spot where a Persistent Gas is indicated.
(11)
Head Wardens will detail One Warden to operate the telephone. Wardens must not phone Permanent Posts unless absolutely necessary. A Messenger should be sent for any information required by any auxiliary posts. MAKE CERTAIN that the message sent is EXACTLY as recorded upon the message form.
(12)
Phone Operators MUST commence their call with:-

RUSHDEN REPORT CENTRE.

When through, commence

ARP RAID DAMAGE.

Post no……… and Section …….

SPEAK SLOWLY AND DISTINCTLY.

(13)
ALL FILLED IN MESSAGE FORMS ,must be handed to the Head-Wardens at the close of the exercise. ANY SERVICE REQUESTED AND NOT ARRIVED TO CALL MUST BE ENTERED IN “REMARKS” ON THE MESSAGE FORM.
(14)
ALL WARDENS must be fully conversant with the streets situated in their Auxiliary Post Control.
(15)
Wardens will (if requested) direct drivers of Co-operating Services to any named place, and it must be remembered that drivers of these vehicles may be STRANGERS to the District of Rushden. All directions indicated must be given in “Turns to the Right of Left”, names of streets only is useless to any driver who does not know the district.
(16)
The FIRST AID CENTRE is the ALFRED STREET SCHOOLS and all vehicular traffic proceeding there MUST TRAVEL VIA CHURCH STREET into ALFRED STREET, turning at “Clipson’s” Corner. All other routes will be closed.

Captain Chas. H. Clark - Chief Warden.
M.S. Boyd – Deputy Chief Warden.
