This letter was printed in the Northampton Mercury,
to inform his customers that he was retiring.

To the inhabitants of Wellingborough, Kettering &c &c.

Henry Knighton begs leave to return his thanks to the Inhabitants of Wellingborough, Kettering, Higham Ferrers, Irthlingborough, Raunds, Barton & Burton and all places adjacent for the support he has received from them during the period he has been in the Carrying business and further begs leave to Solicit a Continuance of their favours on behalf of Mr John Hankins, his successor to whom he has disposed of his wagon, horse & business. He also takes the liberty to recommend Mr Hankins as a Person worthy of their confidence.
