Local Intelligence

VICTORIA PRODUCTIVE BOOT AND SHOE MANUFACTURING COMPANY On Thursday last these Co-operators celebrated their removal into more extensive premises with a social evening. At seven o'clock about fifty members with their wives and friends sat down to a substantial repast in the large room of the Coffee Tavern, after which an adjournment was made to the National School, where the year's balance-sheet, which was of a most satisfactory character, was presented by Mr. E. French (secretary). Mr. G. Parker, president, who occupied the chair, congratulated the society upon the successful year's trade, after which the remainder of the evening was devoted to conviviality, Signor G. Tolini delighting the company at intervals with selections upon his musical glasses. Songs, etc., were given by members of the company, and dancing was indulged in until midnight, Mr. W. Howes presiding at the piano. The party closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman and the friends who had so ably contributed to the evening's amusement.
