John White - Royal Visit 1944

RUSHDEN extended an especially cordial welcome to the Duchess of Gloucester on Wednesday afternoon, when she paid an official visit to A R P centres and toured the roomy boot and shoe factory of John White (Impregnable Boots) Ltd, where H R H showed great interest in the making and finishing of footwear. Our happy picture was taken after tea at the conclusion of the Royal visit. The Royal visitor had a special word of praise for the Nurses of the First Aid post, all spick and span and trained for any emergency.

The Duchess is leaving the factory canteen with Mr John White and the pleasure of her visit is reflected in the smiles.
