Ashford and Daniels
The Steadfast Boot Co first advertised here in 1920.
Factory at the corner of Moor Road and Washbrook Road.
This view is of the rear in Midland Road.

Cecil Daniels is first found in the trade directory of 1924 trading as a boot heel maker, but no address is given.
A statement
From this bill head, he must have teamed up with John Ashford in that year. Perhaps they cleared a room to expand the business as the bill above was goods purchased by Annie Mole in preparation for her marriage in 1925: 7 pictures, an oak sideboard and two bowls.

In 1928 Ashford and Daniels were trading as boot heel makers at 94 Moor Road.

From 1931 until 1934 John A Ashford was trading alone at the same address. Nothing further is known of this company.

In 1940 new occupiers, F Stevens, moved here from further along the road at 65 Moor Road. They traded here until at least 1969 under the title of Stevens Leather Factors.
