Presentation—On leaving the clicking department of Messrs W Green and Son’s factory, Mr W C Tarry was presented by his fellow-workers with a travelling case.


Walter Charles Tarry, was born in Yardley Hastings on 17th September 1876 the son of Jonathan and Annie. In the 1901 census (see below) he is shown as a clicker in the boot trade and was living in Northampton. On the 12th February 1915 he was appointed one of the directors of The Tecnic Shoe Company. In 1916 he was appointed Managing Director for a term of five years. In 1919 Mr Tarry and his family became the sole owners. He died in 1978 aged 102.
