Boot & Shoe Trades Journal June 26th 1914
Skeeles and Co. 1914

Eighteen years ago Mr Skeeles established the above concern and commenced business in Fitzwilliam-street, Rushden. It was soon necessary to remove to Wymington-road, and from there to Fitzwilliam-street again. Later on the factory in Moor-road, last occupied by F. Noble, was secured. It had a bad reputation and Mr. Skeeles showed considerable pluck in moving to it. This policy has been successful, however, and the luck has changed with the new proprietor. Messrs. Skeeles and Co. produce excellent lines of welted, F.S. and M.S. goods and fine a ready market for all their productions. They are sound, reliable lines, which, being moderate in price and stylish in design, deserve all the recognition they obtain. Mr. F. A. Skeeles is thoroughly radical in every operation of shoe manufacture and understands the trade. He is assisted by three sons who are in the clicking, sewing and stitching, and lasting departments.
