Rushden Firm in Liquidation
Lawrence Shoes Ltd.
Lawrence Shoes, Ltd., of Newton Road, Rushden, went into voluntary liquidation at a meeting of creditors at Kettering on Monday.

The company has a deficiency of £14,914 as regard creditors and £10,250 as regards shareholders, according to a statement of affairs. Of the assets, which total£11,500, buildings are estimated to produce £5,000, machinery, lasts, fixtures and fittings £2,750, stock in trade £1,500 and sundry debtors £2,250.

The 40 employees of the company were given a week’s notice when a meeting of the directors decided to go into voluntary liquidation.

Formerly the firm employed about 60 people, some 20 of whom worked in their closing room at Yardley Hastings. This part of the business was sold recently to Sudborough and Wood, the Wellingborough shoe manufacturers.
