B Ladds


The business of Mr. B. Ladds was commenced in 1891, but outgrowing its accommodation, extensions were soon made, and the firm are now employing a large number of hands. The factory is replete with the latest machinery, and every appliance for cheapening production. The firm make their own gas and in every way study the most economical methods of modern shoemaking. The goods of the firm comprise box calf, willow calf, black and brown glaces in M.S., F.S., and Goodyear-welted; also cricket, cycling, tennis, football, and athletic wear. The house are well to the front in styles and shapes, and produce some of the most sterling goods in men’s and boys’. So extensive is the trade negotiated by this firm that they are now exporting to all parts of the world, and demand for the "Bell","B.L." and "Flying Alligator" is very extensive. These brands are sound, reliable goods, which give every satisfaction to a large and growing clientele. Mr. Ladds is a staunch Liberal in politics, and has done much for the cause he has espoused. He has occupied seats on the local Board of Guardians and done much appreciated public work. He is exceedingly popular in the district and much like by all who know him.
