The late Mr. W. C. Knight founded the business in 1889. After two moves he built the present factory in Manton Road in 1893. This has been considerably enlarged and an entirely new wing has been erected on the one storey principle. Mr Laurence retired in 1906, and the founder carried on the business with the able assistance of his sons until his lamented death. The firm was converted into a limited Company in 1915, with the above Directors. They have always done a wholesale trade and their productions have won for themselves a very enviable reputation. They are sound, reliable goods, which find a ready market, especially in Scotland, where a good business has been done for many years.
The Directors are all capable business men who carry on the business on the old sound lines and are ready to adopt any new methods which are calculated to improve their productions.
