This house enjoys a world-wide reputation. It is doubtful if any other Rushden firm has such a numerous clientele. Nearly every country in the world contributes to their turnover. America (including the United States and Canada), the Antipodes, Russia, the Continent, and the Far East are but a few of the markets to which the firm ship. Mr. A. E. Marlow, J.P. (Northampton), Mr. C. Pettit, J.P., C.C. (Harrold), and Mr. H. Morton, Birmingham)–gentlemen all keenly interested in the trade–constitute the board of directors, whilst the internal management is in the hands of Mr. G. Morgan, and Mr. W. E. Capon, as secretary, looks after the financial side of the business. The “Commonwealth”, “Particular”, “World’s Best”, and “Universal” brands have made the firm’s footwear well known. Their styles and shapes are ever being replenished with the latest American and Continental patters, whilst the firm creates no small demand for new styles, they themselves taking the initiative. Messrs. Cave make a specialty of welted goods. The demand for these is ever on the increase, and their lines to retail at 8s. 11d., 10s. 6d, and 12s. 6d. are full of interest. The firm does an extensive London trade, their office being situated at 321 Moorgate-street-chambers, and is in charge of Mr. P. S. Draper.
