Mr Fred. Wood - Miss Jones

MARRIAGE OF FRED. WOOD, THE CHAMPION BICYCLIST — The professional bicycle champion, Fred. Wood, who is a native of Rushden, in this county, and is now in his twenty-third year, was married to Miss Jones, daughter of Mr. T. Jones, landlord of the Porter Lodge, New Bond-street, Leicester, on Tuesday morning. A large crowd gathered at the entrance to All Saints' Church, Highcross-street, Leicester, the edifice at which the service was performed. The champion entertained a large number of friends at his own house, the Duke of Cambridge Hotel, Bond-street, after which the newly-married couple took their departure for London. Wood is the recipient of a quantity of presents from various sources, amongst others a splendid silver tea service from Messrs. Humber, Marriott, and Cooper, and a large and valuable timepiece from the Leicestershire Cricket Ground Company.
