Sept. 1921, from an unidentified newsclip
West - Patenall
22nd September 1921

Great interest was centred in a Wedding which took place at the Independent Wesleyan Church, Rushden, on Thursday afternoon, between Miss Blanche Evelyn Patenall and Mr. Herbert Edwin West.

The bride is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Patenall, of 'Holmehurst,' Higham-road, and the bridegroom the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin West, of The Poplars, Wellingborough-road. Both bride and bridegroom belong to families prominent in the local business world. Mr. H. E. West is secretary of Messrs. West Bros. Ltd., boot manufacturers, of Higham Ferrers and Rushden, and the bride has been secretary to Messrs. W. A. Patenall and Sons, Ltd., boot manufacturers. As certain of the wedding gifts show, both are held an high esteem by the staff and employees at their respective places of business. The bride has worked devotedly as a teacher at the Independent Wesleyan Sunday School, and has been deeply interested in the 'Y' Branch of B.W.T.A.

The Ceremony

A large congregation attended the wedding, which was at two o'clock. Artistic, decorations had been carried out by Messrs. Seckington and Son. and the dresses of the bridal party being particularly dainty in tint and design, the scene at the rostrum was most attractive. Mr. W. T. L. Flood played suitable music, and the choir led the sing of the hymns "O Father all creating" and "O Perfect Love." The Rev. C. J. Keeler (pastor) officiated.
