Rushden and District Weddings

Wesley-Quinton - The wedding took place on Saturday at St Peter’s Parish Church of Mr Cyril George Wesley, only son of Mr and Mrs W.C. Wesley, of 88, Glassbrook road, Rushden and Miss Ruby Leonora Quinton, of 88, Glassbrook road, Rushden, and youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A.E. Quinton, of Great Yarmouth. Given away by Mr G. Wilkinson (brother-in-law) of Great Yarmouth, the bride was attired in beige satin with hat, shoes and stockings to match, and carried a bouquet of pink tulips and fern. She was attended by Miss Maud Ireson (friend of the bride), who wore a dress of pale blue silk, with hat to match, and Miss Florence Ford (niece of the bride) who was dressed in Nil green silk trimmed with lace, and Miss Maud Wilkinson (niece of the bride), whose dress was of pink silk. Both the latter wore Dutch caps, and carried posies of daffodils. All the bridesmaids wore moiré wrist straps, gifts from the bridegroom. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev P. Barwell Spriggs (Vicar), and Mr A. Johnson was best man. Some 60 quests attended the reception in the adult school. Numerous presents included a pedestal from the closing-room of the Messrs. C.W. Horrell to the bride, and a marble clock from Messrs. Mackness to the bridegroom.

Messrs. Wadsworth Bros., Newton road, Rushden, supplied the motors.
