Tomkinson – Odell

Khaki Wedding at Rushden

The marriage took place at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Saturday afternoon, by the Rector (Rev. P. E. Robson, M.A.), of Sargt. Elijah Tomkinson, 12th Lancers, son of Mr. Frederick Tomkinson, of Wolverhampton, to Miss Annie Mary Odell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Odell, of 22 Denmark-road, Rushden. The bride was dressed in a nigger brown costume and wore a Wedgewood blue hat; she carried a lovely bouquet of flowers. She was attended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. Odell, who wore a navy blue costume and Wedgewood blue hat, Mr. Alfred Odell, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. The bridegroom, who was home on leave from the front, has now returned to his regiment.

There was a good selection of presents. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a gold bangle and to the bridesmaid a wristlet watch.
