The wedding between Mr. Thomas Richard Thacker, youngest son of Mr and Mrs. C. W. Thacker, of 37, Westfleld-avenue, and Miss Alice Beaumont, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Beaumont, 1, Westfield-avenue, drew a large company to the Higham Ferrers Methodist Church on Saturday.

The bridegroom is assistant manager to Messrs. Jaques and Clark, Ltd., boot manufacturers, Rushden and an officer of the Higham Ferrers Methodist Church, where he is junior superintendent of the Sunday School and leader-in-charge of the Life Boys. The bride, a nurse at Northampton General Hospital, also belongs to the Higham church and was formerly Primary superintendent of the Sunday School, also being attached to the St. John Nursing Division.

Attired in heavy white cloche with full skirt, short train and long veil, the bride had a headdress of orange blossom and carried lilies and fern.

The Misses J. and M. Beaumont, attending as bridesmaids, were dressed in hyacinth blue heavy corded taffeta and carried bouquets of dusty pink chrysanthemums and fern. Mr. L. Ward was best man and the Rev. T. H. Johns conducted the service, with Miss D. Woods at the organ. The bride was given away by her father.

Alter a reception at the Adult School, Mr. and Mrs. Thacker left for a honeymoon in Lancashire, the bride wearing a Harris tweed tan coat and blue dress with brown accessories. They will make their home for the time being at 37, Westfield-street, Higham Ferrers.

Wedding presents included cheques from the directors of Messrs. Jaques and Clark, the directors and secretary of J. and C. Claridge, Ltd., and the staffs and employees of the two firms. Messrs Wadsworth Bros. of Rushden supplied the cars.
