| A pretty ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Saturday, when a marriage was solemnised, the rector (Rev P E Robson) officiating between Miss Lily Lott, third daughter of Mr R Lott, of 39, Harborough-road, Rushden, and Mr Thomas Yates Spriggs, third son of Mr and Mrs Spriggs, of Burrough, Melton Mowbray. The bride’s father gave her away. She wore a dress of white crepe-de-chine and a bridal veil trimmed with orange blossom. Her bouquet was composed of lilies, roses, carnations, and sweet peas. The bridesmaids, Miss Minnie Lott (sister of the bride) and Miss Dorothy Spriggs (sister of the bridegroom) were attired in lemon-coloured crepe dresses and black lace hats. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s, all being the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr W Bland, of Irthlingborough, carried out the duties of best man. After a reception at the bride’s home the happy couple left for Hastings for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in an oyster-grey gabardine costume and a picture hat. |
