| The marriage took place at St. Peter’s Church, Rushden, on Saturday, of Mr. Reginald Smith, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, of 30 Sartoris-road, Rushden, to Miss Gladys Field of 55 Sartoris-road, Rushden. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. P. E. Robson (Rector of St. Mary’s). The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. John Greaves, wore a pretty dress of white crepe Georgette with bridal veil and wreath of orange blossom. She carried a charming bouquet of white lilies and pink carnations. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Mabel Field, who was gowned in blue silkaline with pale blue blouse, and also by Miss Olive Smith, whose dress was also of blue silkaline with ninon blouse. Both bridesmaids wore white lace hats. The best man was Mr. W. Smith (brother of the bridegroom). A reception at the bride’s home followed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were the recipients of numerous wedding gifts, including a silver jam spoon and ½-doz. silver dessert spoons from the girls of the closing room at Messrs. T. Robinson & Sons’, where the bride is employed. The honeymoon is being spent at East Langton. |
