Skett - Green

Ex-Soldier’s Wedding – The marriage took place at the Parish Church, Rushden, on Saturday, of Miss Mabel Green, youngest daughter of Mr. John Green, of 22, Albion-place, to ex-Private Arthur Skett. The bridegroom, an Aberystwyth man, belonged to the 7th R.W.F., and was billeted at Rushden with Mrs. Darnell, Manning’s-lane. Before the R.W.F. left Rushden Mr. Skett was discharged from the Army on account of defective eyesight, and he is now employed at the electric light works at Rushden. The Rector (Rev. Percy Robson) officiated at the wedding. Misses Nellie Brown (Irchester) and Ida King (Northampton) were the bridesmaids, and Mr. King (Northampton) acted as best man. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. W. Clark. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. Numerous presents were received.
