Rushden Echo, 5th September 1924, transcribed by Kay Collins
The Coming-of-Age of Mr Jack Scroxton, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Bert Scroxton, of “Kepemovin,” Portland-road, Rushden, was celebrated in a novel manner. In honour of attaining his majority, Mr Scroxton spent a fortnight touring the North of England. On his arrival home he was given a rousing reception by a party of friends, present by invitation at the residence in Portland-road. At the teatables the usual felicitations were expressed. Following, the company had a happy time at games, musical items, etc. Mr J Scroxton was the recipient of a large number of excellent gifts.
