Miss Evelyn Sayer (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Sayer of Harborough-road, Rushden), who is studying at the Royal College of Music, last Friday had the honour of an introduction to Princess Mary, before whom she sang. In a letter to Mrs. Bernard Tomkins, Miss Sayer writes: “I felt horribly nervous, but I need not have done so, as the princess was perfectly sweet”. Miss Sayer recently appeared with marked success in a musical mystery play “The Crusaders”, which was produced at the Boudoir Theatre, London. She is making excellent progress in her profession.

Coming of Age
Miss Evelyn Sayer, daughter of Mr and Mrs J Sayer, of Harborough-road, who sang at the Park-road Wesleyan choir festival last Sunday, celebrated the attainment of her majority last Tuesday. Miss Sayer was the recipient of many expressions of felicitations in the shape of handsome and costly presents.
We are pleased also to announce the engagement of Miss Sayer to Mr. Cyril Husthwaite, youngest son of the late Mr. George Husthwaite (formerly headmaster of the Council Schools, Higham Ferrers), and brother of Mrs. Bernard Tomkins, of Rushden.
