| At St. Peter’s Church, Rushden, on Monday the marriage took place of Miss Edith Emily Hart, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Hart, of 44, Moor-road, Rushden, and Mr. Edward Rogers, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rogers, of Irchester-road, Rushden. The Rev. P. J. Richards conducted the ceremony. The bride’s dress was of white silk with bridal veil and wreath of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of white lilies and carnations. She was given away by her father. Misses Florence Humphrey (cousin of the bride) and Gladys Rogers (sister of the bridegroom) were in attendance on the bride, and both were attired in blue, Miss Humphrey wearing a black and white hat and Miss Rogers a white felt hat. They carried pretty bunches of white carnations and maidenhair fern Mr. William Rogers (brother of the bridegroom) discharged the duties of best man.
As Mr. and Mrs. Rogers left the church Mr. H. Abbott rendered the Wedding March on the organ. About 80 guests assembled at the reception, which was held in St. Peter’s Church-room. The numerous wedding gifts included half-a-dozen knives and two vases from the girls of the closing room of Mr. F. Knight’s factory, where the bride has been employed. The bridegroom was also the recipient of a present from his fellow employees at the C.W.S. boot works.
