A very pretty wedding took place at the Park-road Baptist Church, Rushden, on Saturday last, when a Wellingborough Military Medallist took as his bride as respected Rushden Lady.
The bridegroom was Pte Fredk. Robinson, of the Northants Regt., the second son of Mr and Mrs John Robinson, of 5 Angel-lane, Wellingborough, who has had the Military Medal awarded him for bravery on the battlefield. He has been twice wounded. Before joining up he was the goalkeeper for the Wellingborough Congregational F.C.
The bride was Miss Florence Wright, the eldest daughter of Mr Eli Wright, of 46, Harborough-road, Rushden, a teacher in the Rushden Baptist Sunday School. She was given away by her father, and was tastefully attired in crepe voile, and also wore a bridal veil, and carried a bouquet of carnations and lilies. Her bridesmaids were Miss Edith Andrews (friend of the bride) and Miss Edith Robinson (sister of the bridegroom), who wore apricot voile dresses with hats to match, and gold brooches, gifts of the bridegroom.
Mr W Robinson (brother of the bridegroom) was the best man. The Rev R C Law was the officiating minister. Amongst the many presents received were a tea service and trinket set from the employees of Messrs. G. Selwood & Co., Rushden.
