The Rushden Echo, 4th May 1917, transcribed by Kay Collins
The Marriage took place yesterday at St. Mary’s Wesleyan Church, Bedford, of Mr Harry Roughton Quincey, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J Quincey, of Higham Ferrers, and Miss Lizzie Osborn Harris, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr T Harris, of Rushden.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr S Harris, was charmingly gowned in Paisley voile with cream trimmings. She wore a hat of navy blue trimmed with ospreys, the bridegroom having brought the ospreys with him from South Africa, where he had resided for a number of years. There was one bridesmaidMiss Battle (a friend of the bride).
The bridegroom, who has resided in South Africa since the Boer War, in which campaign he took part, has returned to his mother country with the intention of re-joining His Majesty’s Forces.
