Rushden Echo, 6th November 1914, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Penny - Waller

MARRIAGE – A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Peter’s Church, Rushden, on Sunday last, when Miss Lillian Kate Waller, of Rushden, was married to Mr. James Harris Penny, of Peterborough. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. Waller, was charmingly attired in cream satin with pan velvet hat to match. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss A. Penny, (sister of the bridegroom), who was dressed in white flowered voile, with a black hat, and Miss O. Farey (friend of the bride), who was dressed in white silk with black hat. Mr. W. H. Pack capably carried out the duties of best man. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. P. J. Richards, Vicar of St. Peter’s. A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s mother, about 30 relatives and friends assembling together. Numerous handsome and useful presents were received by the happy couple, who left Rushden on Monday morning for Huntingdon, where they will make their home.
