Mrs Eliza Woods

Mrs Eliza Woods, wife of Mr John Woods, passed away at her home, 80 Harborough-road, Rushden, on Thursday March 9th. Aged 85 years, she broke her leg five months ago, and had since been in failing health. She was a native of Ravensden, Beds., and came to Rushden 56 years ago, being attached to the B.W.T.A.U. and St Mary’s Church. She held a long-service medal for 21 years’ work with the St John Ambulance Brigade. Besides the husband, four sons and one daughter are left. One son lives in Canada.

The funeral took place on Saturday. The Rector (Rev E Green) conducted the service at the home, and the mourners were: Mr John Woods (widower), Mrs V Richardson (daughter), Mr and Mrs C Woods (son and daughter-in-law), Mr E Richardson (son-in-law), Miss Audrey Woods (granddaughter), Mr and Mrs C K Woods, Mr and Mrs E V Woods (sons and daughters-in-law).

Mr F Bayes was the undertaker.
