The Rushden Echo and Argus, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Mrs. Anne Wiggins, of Rushden
Birthday and Obituary

10th February, 1950

91, She Gets the Dinner
Mrs. Anne Wiggins, who was 91 on Tuesday, did not celebrate her birthday as she did last year with a large party at the Windmill Hall.  She spent it quietly at her home, the Old Mill House, Glassbrook Road, Rushden.

Mrs. Wiggins cannot get around as well as she used to for she has rheumatism in her feet, but when a reporter called to see her she was busy doing a job she does every day – getting dinner ready.

She still likes to walk round the garden, but is not able to do any work in it, and she said that she would be glad when the warm weather came so that she could go out more.  At present she is confined to the house, where she still cleans up and attends to the meals.

7th April, 1950
