Ex-Soldier’s DeathMuch sympathy is felt with the widow, two sons, and the daughter of the late Mr William Whitmee, who died yesterday, aged 44, from cancer of the tongue, from which he had suffered since last August. Mr Whitmee, a native of Rushden had served in the great War with the R.A.M.C. in France, and while out there he gained the Military Medal for extricating wounded soldiers from a dressing station which was under the fire of guns of heavy calibre. Pte. Whitmee was himself so badly injured as to lose a leg. He was a boot operative in civil life. The funeral will take place tomorrow. |
