Mr. Charles R. White

The death took place at 11, Montague-street, on Saturday last, of Mr. Charles R. White, aged 36. A native of Higham Ferrers he had been in failing health for some months past, and about three months ago tuberculosis was diagnosed, no hope of his recovery being given. The deceased was an enthusiastic trade unionist, and a member of the Rushden and Higham Labour Council, being much respected by his colleagues. He leaves a widow and one little boy to mourn their loss. The funeral took place yesterday in the cemetery at Rushden, the Rev. C. J. Keeler officiating both in the cemetery chapel and at the graveside. The coffin, of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:-

CHARLES ROBINS WHITE,
Died Dec. 12, 1914.
Aged 36 years.

The mourners comprised Mrs. White (widow), Master Harry White (son), Mr. Alfred White (brother), Mrs. O. Ireson (sister), Mrs. N. Goosey (mother-in-law), Mr. Herbert Lovell (brother-in-law), Mr. O. Ireson (brother-in-law), Mrs. A. White (sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. F. Berrill (uncle and aunt), Mr. F. Berrill jun. (cousin), Mr. G. Scrimshaw and Mr. and Mrs. F. Sutton (friends). The bearers comprised Messrs. J. Sinfield, F. Andrews, Robins, and F. Tye (shop-mates of the deceased). A number of beautiful floral tributes to the memory of the deceased were placed on the grave.
