Mr George Thomas Watts
Knight of Merit Dies


A Knight of Merit in the Royal Antidiluvian Order of Buffaloes, of which he had been a member for many years, Mr George Thomas Watts, of 8, Pemberton Street, Rushden, died suddenly at his home on Sunday. The funeral took place at Podington on Wednesday.

Aged 66, Mr Watts was a native of Podington but had lived in Rushden for many years, being employed for over 44 years at the CWS Boot Works. He was a member of the Risdene Lodge of the RAOB and an affiliated member of the Victoria Lodge.

He leaves a widow, two sons and a daughter.

The funeral service was at Podington Church and there were a number of Lodge friends present. Chief family mourners were Mrs F. Watts and Mr T. F. Watts (widow and son), Mr A. Watts (son), Mrs P. Shipp (daughter), Master Michael Shipp (grandson), Mrs L. Rollings (sister) and Mr V. Watts (brother).

Wreaths were sent by the two lodges and the CWS Pensioners.
