The Rushden Echo, 8th August 1913, transcribed by Jim Hollis
Rushden Resident’s Bereavement
Three Deaths Within A Week
Wife, Sister, and Grandchild Pass Away

The wife, sister, and grandchild of Mr. James Warren, of Rushden, have all passed away within a week. Mr. Warren is one of the best known residents in Rushden and has lived in the town practically all his life. He was formerly in business as a butcher and baker, and has followed various lines of business since.

Mrs. Warren, who was 70 years of age and who had been ailing for some time, was also well-known throughout the town. In fact the name has been associated with Rushden for over a century.

Mrs. Warren passed away on Wednesday last week and on the same evening news came of the death of Mr. Warren’s sister, aged 68, of Ravenstone, both having died the same day. The funerals took place on Saturday.

Mrs. James Warren was buried at the Rushden cemetery on Saturday, amid many expressions of sympathy from many friends in the place.

The Chief Mourners

were Mr. James Warren (husband) and Mrs. Ellen Sargent (daughter), Mr. J. W. Warren (son), Mrs. E. Warren (daughter-in-law), Mr. Arthur Warren and Mr. E. Warren (sons), Mr. and Mrs. F. Sargent (son-in-law), and Mrs. Bailey (niece), six other nieces also followed.

The late Mrs. Naomi Kightly, of Ravenstone, was born in Rushden and lived there for many years.

Mr. James Warren’s grand-daughter, Miss Theresa Fletton, aged 16, it will be remembered, has suffered for some considerable time from consumption. She was able to be taken out in a bath chair until within a few days of her death, which took place on Friday.

The funeral took place yesterday at the cemetery, Rushden. The chief mourners were Mr. and Mrs. Fletton (father and mother), Mr. Harry Fletton and Miss Doris Fletton (brother and sister), Mr. and Mrs. F. Sargent (uncle and aunt), Mr. James Warren (grandfather), and Mrs. Linnet (aunt), Mr. J. W. Warren and Mr. E. Warren (uncles), Mr. and Mrs. H. Warren (uncle and aunt), Mr. W. Fletton (uncle) and Mrs. Gilbert (friend); three cousins also followed.

Mr. and Mrs. Fletton, of 42, Washbrook-road, and Mr. J. Warren wish to thank the many friends for their sympathy in their great bereavement.
