Rushden Echo & Argus, 22nd December 1944
Mrs Fanny Waller

Rushden has lost one of its few nonagenarians, Mrs. Fanny Waller, who died on Tuesday night at the age of 90. Mrs. Waller was the widow of Mr. George Waller and lived at 2 Woodland-road—the first residence built in that street. She leaves several children and grandchildren, some of whom are in Canada.

The late Mr. George Waller once walked from this district to London in search of a job—and got one. He was a ganger over the men who built the dam at Sywell waterworks, and for many years he and his wife kept a greengrocery business in Moor-road.
