Mr Alfred Walker
Rushden Resident’s Death


Last night the death took place from heart disease and dropsy of Mr Alfred Walker, at his residence, 4 Grove-road. Mr Walker was 71 years of age, and had lived in Rushden 50 years. He had been 18 months in very bad health, and had suffered from dropsy for many years.

Well-respected in the district, the late Mr Walker was formerly partner of Messrs Walker and Everard, undertakers and later, until 18 months ago, worked as journeyman carpenter for Messrs C Green and Sons.

Earlier in his career Mr Walker worked for Mr Knight, Builder, for 27 years a fine record.

Deceased leaves a widow, one unmarried daughter (Lilian), and three sons (Ernest and Arthur in Rushden and William in South Wales) to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.
