The Funeral
|
|||
Mrs Wadsworth had enjoyed comparatively good health for most of her life. On Thursday last week she seemed rather unwell, and her son, Mr Edgar Wadsworth, asked Dr Greenfield to attend. The doctor prescribed medicine and rest, and Mrs Wadsworth stayed in bed, seeming practically her normal self. An alarming change in her appearance on Sunday made the family send for the doctor again, but on his arrival Dr Greenfield found that the deceased was past human aid. Mrs Wadsworth, formerly Miss Wright, was a daughter of the late Mr Thomas Wright, of Higham Ferrers, a well-known and respected inhabitant, for many years groom to the late Dr Starling. Mrs Wadsworth had been an active Church worker at St Mary’s, Higham Ferrers. Mr Wadsworth and his sons had had the business at Rushden for some considerable time, and Mr and Mrs Wadsworth, sen., removed about ten years ago to the house which adjoins the works. The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church and the Cemetery, Rushden. The Rector, Rev P E Robson officiated. |
