Rushden Echo, 20th April 1917, transcibed by Gill Hollis

Mr. Joseph Wadsworth

The death took place on Wednesday of Mr. Joseph Wadsworth, aged 77, at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Sanders, 45, Queen-street, Rushden.  The late Mr. Wadsworth, who came to Rushden 24 years ago, being a native of Woodford, had a stroke about twelve months ago, a second stroke about 16 weeks ago, when he was placed under the care of Dr. Baker, and the third stroke came on Tuesday.  After the last stroke he did not regain consciousness, but passed away very peacefully the next day.  His wife predeceased him two years last February.  Deceased will be buried on Saturday, and a service will be conducted at the church with which he was connected, St. Mary’s, Rushden.

WADSWORTH – In ever loving memory of dear Grandfather, Joseph Wadsworth, of 45, Queen-street, Rushden, who died April 18th, 1917.

His weary hours and days of pain,
His troubled nights are passed;
His ever-patient, worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
